Really pleased to be selected to race the K1 1000m for New Zealand at the ICF World Sprint Kayak Championships to be held late August in Duisburg, Germany. This will be my 7th sprint worlds and really looking forward to getting in amongst it. This year we have a fairly young team but it should be a good trip.
Currently back in NZ training for the next 6 weeks before we head away for the final preparations for Worlds. Training has been good so far and I seem to be getting fitter. Although it has been a bit wintery it has been nice to be home for bit, the storms have done a good job of topping up the lake which has until recently been at it lowest in 30 years according to one of the locals. This morning we had some really nice water although it was a bit cool to begin with.
